Srinagar Flood Relief – September 2014

From Crisis to Care: Flood Relief in Srinagar

In a matter of hours, the floods in Srinagar and its surrounding regions turned lives upside down. Families were displaced, homes were destroyed, and thousands faced uncertainty and hardship.

Responding promptly to an urgent communication from the Chief Justice of Jammu & Kashmir, Prabh Aasra took immediate action to bring relief to those in need:

  • Over 2 truckloads of essential supplies were delivered directly to affected areas, including dry ration kits, blankets, warm clothing, medicines, and hygiene essentials.

  • Collaborative efforts with local authorities, volunteers, and Legal Services ensured relief reached the most vulnerable quickly and efficiently.

  • Special care was taken for the elderly, children, and women, who are often the hardest hit in times of disaster.

Through these actions, Prabh Aasra helped hundreds navigate the crisis with dignity, care, and hope, demonstrating that compassion and solidarity can make all the difference when communities are at their most vulnerable.

“Floods may wash away homes, but they cannot wash away compassion. Together, we endure..”
