Punjab Floods 2025 (16 August 2025 – Ongoing)
The devastating floods left thousands of families and animals in desperate need. Homes were washed away, crops buried under silt, and livestock left vulnerable. On 16th August 2025, Teams of Prabh Aasra started rescuing needies and supplying groceries and other essentials.
With the receding of floodwaters, teams diverted working tirelessly to relieve suffering, rebuild homes, restore livelihoods, and ensure medical care and reach affected families and animals in need.
Immediate Relief & Rescue
- 5 rescue boats and 6 dedicated teams deployed during the flood.
- 2000+ families rescued, 343+ families served, covering 30+ villages.
- Provided ration kits, clean drinking water, temporary shelters, feed & fodder for livestock and other essentials.
- Paramedical teams & doctors provided treatment ( fever, diarrhea, infections, snake bites, and respiratory problems etc.).
- Free medications were provided regularly from day one.
- Animals suffering from infected feet, skin diseases, hunger, and pain received urgent care.
Mobile Clinic & Medical Support
To ensure continuous 24/7 medical aid, Prabh Aasra deployed a Mobile Medical Bus, replacing traditional free medical camps and extending its reach to remote, flood-affected villages. The bus is equipped with:
- Mini Pharmacy
- Basic Laboratory
- Doctor Consultation Room
- Emergency Care Room
This unit ensures uninterrupted medical care, helping families recover. In addition, a veterinary doctor and support staff were appointed to treat animals affected by the aftermath of the floods..
Rebuilding Homes & Reviving Livelihoods
With the receded waters, the focus has shifted to rebuilding homes, animal shelters, and livelihoods.
- A reconstruction project is underway to build over 20 shelters across Bandala, Dhira Ghar, Nihala Lavera, and Muthianwala and also starting 8 new projects in “Dera Baba Nanak”.
- Each home includes a bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, and shed, along with dedicated animal shelters to protect livestock.
- Farmland Revival
- Fields buried under silt are leveled using 4×4 tractors.
- Farmers are provided with seeds, urea, and potash, while rural paths are cleared to restore access.
