How We Care For Every Child

Residential Shelter & Basic Needs

Every child in our care sleeps in a clean bed, eats warm meals on a fixed schedule, and is given clothing suited to the season. Housemothers and caretakers live alongside the children, so the setting feels like a family home rather than an institution, with older children looked after by our staff and, in turn, learning to look after the younger ones.

Cradle Baby Centre

A dedicated cradle at our gate lets a parent leave a newborn they cannot keep, safely and without being identified. This anonymous option exists because too many unwanted infants, especially girl children, are otherwise abandoned in unsafe places. The moment a baby is received, our staff provide medical checks and round-the-clock nursing, and the child is enrolled into our long-term care and, where possible, adoption process.

Education & Life Skills

Every child is enrolled in school and given daily tutoring to keep pace with their studies. Alongside academics, we run vocational training in tailoring, computer basics and craft work, so that as children grow older they leave us with a skill, not just a certificate, and the confidence to support themselves independently.

Medical & Emotional Support

Many children arrive with untreated illness or the weight of trauma. Our in-house medical team provides 24-hour healthcare, and our caretakers are trained to give the emotional support and patience these children need to feel safe again, working through counselling and daily routine until fear turns into trust.

Referrals, Rehabilitation & Reunification

Children reach us through proper channels, brought in by child welfare committees and local police once a case is verified. From there, we search for surviving family and work toward safe reunification wherever it is possible. When it is not, the child continues to grow up within our Punjab centers, with the same care and stability as any other member of our family.

Life At Prabh Aasra

More than shelter, a childhood restored.

A child who arrives at our gate often carries more than hunger. Many have lost their parents, been separated from family in a crisis, or been left at our cradle centre with no name and no story. Our first job is simple: make them feel safe.

From there, daily life at Prabh Aasra looks like any home should, mornings for school, afternoons for play and homework, evenings for meals together. Housemothers, teachers and our medical team work as one family, so a child grows up known by name, not by case number.

As they grow older, vocational training and life skills sessions prepare them to step into the world with a trade, a diploma, and the confidence that comes from being raised, not just housed.

Cradle Baby Scheme

Every newborn deserves a chance, not a choice made in fear.

Our cradle facility gives parents a safe, judgment-free way to surrender a newborn they cannot keep, especially helping prevent female infanticide. No questions, no legal risk, just a safe hand-off into loving care.

Referrals & Reunification

From Rescue To A Safe Home

Children reach us through proper channels, and we work to send them home whenever we can.

Referral

Child welfare committees or police bring a verified case of an orphaned or destitute child to us.

Care Begins

Immediate shelter, food, clothing and a full medical check-up on arrival.

Tracing Family

We search for surviving relatives so the child can be reunited wherever possible.

Long-Term Support

If reunification is not possible, the child grows up within our family for as long as needed.

Give a child a bed, a meal, a future.

Your support keeps our shelter, cradle centre and classrooms running for the children who depend on them.
