Prayer & Breakfast
The day begins with prayer, bathing assistance and a warm breakfast together.
Prabh Aasra gives abandoned, homeless and helpless women a safe roof, warm meals, medical care and the respect every woman deserves. Free of cost, for as long as they need us.
Many of the women we shelter were found on roadsides, at railway stations or outside hospitals. Some were abandoned by their own families in old age. Others lost their way because of mental illness and could not say where home was.
At Prabh Aasra they find a shelter home that feels like family: a clean bed, daily meals, clothing, treatment and people who call them by name.
We accept women regardless of age, religion, background or condition, giving first priority to those who are completely alone and have nowhere else to turn.
Safe, round-the-clock residential care in women-only wards, with caretakers who live alongside residents. Every woman receives a clean bed, three nutritious meals a day, seasonal clothing and help with personal care.
Women-only living spaces
Three meals every day

Personal care for the bedridden
Women often arrive weak, injured or with long-untreated illness. Our medical team and the Prabh Aasra charitable hospital provide free check-ups, medicines, physiotherapy and hospital care whenever it is needed.
Free health check on arrival
Daily medicines and nursing
Physiotherapy and mobility aids
Charitable hospital support
Many residents carry deep trauma, loneliness or mental illness. Through patient counselling, psychiatric treatment and a calm daily routine, we help women regain stability, confidence and the ability to trust again.

Gentle daily routine
Women who are able are encouraged to learn and contribute. Stitching, handicrafts, kitchen work and gardening give residents purpose, a sense of worth and skills they can carry into a more independent life.
For women who have lost their way, our Mission Milaap team traces addresses, works with police and counsels families so residents can return home safely. Hundreds of families across India have been reunited this way.
